We continually research the IT industry, looking for solutions that fit market niches. We select the products we take on very carefully, only choosing those for which there is a genuine business need and which show the potential to grow and expand. We carry out exhaustive product evaluation and testing, prior to adding new solutions. Product selection is based on technical excellence, robustness and reliability, as well as providing real business benefits and significant added value service opportunities for our channel partners.
Service and support
We have won multiple vendor and press awards for our exceptional value added services, which include marketing and sales support, as well as our engineering and technical services. We are committed to regular staff training and development throughout the organisation to maintain excellence in all areas.
As a market-making distributor, we provide pre-sales, sales, marketing and post-sales support to our channel partners, to enable them to further develop business for existing suppliers, as well as to confidently add new solutions to their portfolio.
Helping resellers benefit from new technologies
We understand that resellers may need extra support when introducing new technologies, so at product introduction we offer a range of additional support services which cover training, sales, marketing, POC assistance, site visits, etc. This additional support for new, complex products helps get resellers up-to-speed as soon as possible and equips them to benefit from services around the technology.
Domestically and internationally, we work very closely with and for our suppliers so we can offer a high degree of technical expertise to our reseller partners. This close relationship also makes it easier to act as an advocate for resellers with the vendor.
Training and consultancy expertise
Training is a high priority at Wick Hill. We provide free product sales training to channel partners, as well as a range of technical courses. Training can be provided at Wick Hill or at customer premises. Our training courses can be resold to end users, providing good reseller margins. On the consultancy side, we can support our channel partners with technical consultancy during the sales process and beyond.
A very strong level of commitment to customer service and technical support, plus an honest and ethical approach, have been fundamental to Wick Hill’s policy for 40 years.
Wick Hill is totally committed to servicing, developing and growing the businesses of our channel partners. As such, we are looking for long-term relationships with both vendors and resellers, based on trust and mutual confidence. We have a 100% channel-only model and take a very active market-making role for and with our suppliers.
Wick Hill’s ethical approach includes an active charity programme supported by members of staff at all levels. We contribute regularly to a number of different charities, as well as to core charities selected by our charity committee.
We have been a finalist in, or won, many industry awards. These include awards assessed by the press or voted for by the channel, as well as awards given to us by our vendors for achieving the most sales.
In 2015, Wick Hill in the UK, won both Microscope’s and CRN’s Security Distributor of the Year and Network Computing’s Distributor of the Year (voted for by readers). Vendor awards included Kaspersky Lab’s Distributor of the Year 2015 for both UK and DACH regions and Becrypt’s Best Performing Distributor Award in the UK.
In Germany, press awards included CRN’s Excellent Distributor award in 2015 and 2016 and the IT-Business’ Distri Award Gold in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
In 2015, Wick Hill was named one of the London Stock Exchange Group’s ‘1000 companies to inspire Britain’ and won Woking’s ‘Most successful company of the year’ award. Wick Hill also became the first security VAD to gain Cyber Essentials accreditation, which demonstrates companies have taken steps to be fundamentally cyber safe.
